The Flooring Store for Portland & Beyond

Surface was created to be a different kind of flooring store in Portland. No sterile warehouse. No high-pressure salespeople. And definitely no endless rows of materials that somehow make choosing a floor harder, not easier.

We wanted a cool place for great materials—and a team that knows their stuff without making the process complicated. That’s what you’ll find at our SE Portland showroom: hardwood flooring, carpet, tile, countertops, rugs, window treatments, and more, all in a space designed to make exploring your options actually enjoyable.

Explore Your Way

Some people want guidance. Others want to wander, compare, touch everything, and figure out what catches their eye. We’re good with both.

Browse on your own or work with our experienced team for design guidance and product selection. Choose from available materials or explore custom-order options when your project calls for something more specific. We’re here when you need us—and happy to get out of your way when you don’t.

Surface works with homeowners, interior designers, builders, remodelers, property managers, and Realtors throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. From Portland and the surrounding communities to Salem, Vancouver, Camas, and the Oregon Coast, we help customers find the right materials for homes and projects of all kinds.

Our selection ranges from familiar favorites to materials you won’t find everywhere, including locally made options, handmade tile, and products made in the USA.

And if you’d rather not coordinate everything yourself, you don’t have to. We can arrange professional installation with one point of contact from product selection through installation.

More Than Meets the Eye

Whether you walk in knowing exactly what you want or have no idea where to start, that’s fine with us. Come explore, ask questions, compare materials—or just see what grabs your attention.
